1922 Dr. Fritz Nagel, son of a well-known Mannheim jeweller, establishes an art shop in his home town
1924 He broadens his areas of activity and stages the first Auction of Fine Arts in the history of Mannheim

1949 The first post-war auctions are held both in Mannheim and Stuttgart. In addition to the auctions held four times a year, additional special auctions are held.

1965 Gert K. Nagel, the founder's son, takes over as an auctioneer. Dr. Fritz Nagel, who personally led l,200 auctions, continues in the role of expert advisor. On the occasion of his 75th birthday, his lifetime achievement for culture is honoured with the German "Bundesverdienstkreuz".

1990 In order to insure the continuity of his auction company, Gert K. Nagel hands over the establishment to his long time senior manager Robin Ph. Straub, who enjoyed intense training for the leadership task over a considerable period of time. Straub becomes sole owner and CEO of the Nagel Auktionen Company. Gert K. Nagel continues as a advisor.
1990 A branch office of Nagel Auktionen is opened in Leipzig.
