Numerous chromolithographies and tinted lithographies of partly stereoscopic drawings. Folio size (573 x 400 mm). Bound in gilt-stamped half morocco with cloth binding. Illustrated volumes with half-title, title and table of contents.
Two of four volumes: Premier volume: architecture, vues, ensembles et détails, I. - XLIII (43); architecture, ornementation et décoration, XLIV (44) - XLVII (47); revêtements et pavements, XLVIII (48) - LXVII (67). Deuxième volume: plafonds, LXVIII (68) - LXXV (75); boiseries, ensemble et détails, LXXVI (76) - XCIV (94); portes, XCV (95) - CVIL (107); faïences et imitation, CVIII (108) - CXXXIII (133).
The two volumes belong to one of the most important works of the beginning science of Arabic art in the 19th century. The lithographed views after the great photographer Giraud de Prangey.
