The siddha is occupying the centre of the painting seated on an animal-skin draped over a cushion placed on a rock, his right hand resting on his knee while the left is supporting a kalasha, wearing various garments, his elderly face displaying a severe expression, moustache and beard framing lips and chin, elongated earlobes with large ear-ornaments, his hair combed in a chignon, a double halo behind, flanked to each side by a lama, the upper register with the red Buddha Amitabha showing the meditation gesture, flanked by a lama and Milarepa, below the siddha is a reclining deer and all are placed in a mountainous landscape, in brocade mounting.
Important German private collection, collected in the 1970s and 80s, mainly acquired at Schoettle Ostasiatica, Stuttgart.
