China, probably Shang dynasty, ca. 1400-1300 B.C.

Cast bronze, with a uniform grey-green patina, on three sharp-edged, square legs flared slightly outwards, with 'Taotie' decoration running around the wall and umbrella-shaped handles on the rim.
