Pigments on cotton. The painting contains elements of "Janmashtami", the festival of Krishna's birth and the "Nand Mahotsav" festival on the day after Krishna's birth. On the day of birth, Krishna "Shrinathji" is depicted in saffron robes in a cradle. The newborn is given toys, which are depicted here in large quantities. "Nan Mahotsav" on the following day celebrates the arrival of "Krishna" at the home of Nanda and Yashoda, his foster parents. This day is celebrated with great joy by His adorants, including the display of childhood scenes of Krishna, including stealing butter and curd.
