Two scholars playing Go under a pine tree while a lumberjack watching and a young servant cooking tea water by the rock. Ink and colors on paper, landscape format, mounted and framed under glass. Signature: "Painted on the 16th day of the 8th month of the xinyou year [1921] by Bishan Xu Tingqi in Yumen Shanzhuang". An artist's seal: "Bishan shuhua".

Xu Tginqi with courtesy name Bishan is from Funing of Hebei Province. He was one of the eight Jingdong painters and painted in the palace for Empress Cixi. He was known for his paintings depicting figures and landscapes
