Seated in vajrasana on a lotus base with his right hand raised holding the vajra while the left is resting on his lap supporting the kapala, wearing various monastic garments including a wide-sleeved mantle, its border incised with scrolling tendrils, his face displaying a severe expression with protruding eyes below arched eyebrows, empty cavity as urna, smiling lips, elongated earlobes with large ear ornaments and his head topped with his specific bonnet, sealed.
From an important German private collection, acquired by the owner's father presumably around 1970 from Schoettle Ostasiatica in Stuttgart - Resealed, minor wear
