Japan, marked in seal script "Dai Nihon Genryusai Seiya zo", Meiji period
H. ca. 120 cm (H. 100 cm / base D. 58 cm)
In dynamic standing pose, his left arm raised high above his head, probably holding a gong (which is now lost). On a separately cast rocky surface base, on the back of it signed in seal seal within a rectangular cartouche.
Former German private collection, acquired prior to 2007 - Top part lost, restored crack at the left arm
