The rectangular case lacquered black and fitted with vertical dark brown wood doors hinged in two sections with decorative metall mounts and inner latticed doors, all opening to reveal an elaborate altar, decorated in gold- , black lacquer and red pigments, set on multi-tiered stands housed in Buddhist architecural elements. supported by two-level plinth set on a stand with three drawers. The eaves of the architectural elements are decorated with gold-lacquered openwork carvings of lingzhi and the upper decorative paneel reveals a dragon amidst clouds.
