Standing in tribhanga on a lotus base with her right hand lowered in varadamudra while the left is showing the vitarka gesture, lotuses flowering along her shoulders, wearing sari, jewellery set with replaced semi-precious stones, her face displaying a serene expression with downcast eyes below arched eyebrows that run into her nose-bridge, urna at her forenhead, her hair combed in a chignon secured with a tiara and a flaming halo behind.
From an old German private collection, acquired at Sotheby's, London, 18 April 1983, lot 79 (dated as Nepal, ca. 13th cent.) and since then in private ownership - Beautifully preserved apart from minor signs of age and break lines in the mandorla
