Dendrochronological examination by Prof. Dr. Peter Klein, University of Hamburg from October 7, 2021.
The sculpture is published with an illustration in an essay by Robert Suckale, Die Kölner Domchorstatuen. Cologne and Paris sculpture in the second half of the 13th century, p. 232, fig. 9 in Weyres / Rode Kölner Domblatt, 1979/80.

Provenance: The Bozzetto was owned by a long-established family near Salem to this day. The sculptor family Hops was based near Salem. Hops was an apprentice in the Dirr (also Dürr) workshop, Johann Georg Dirr became a partner in the Feuchtmayer workshop in Mimmenhausen.
