The depictions are from the traditional story about the four most eminent scholars Su Shi, Lin Hejing, Wang Xizhi and Tao Yuanming and their aesthetic tastes for ink rubbing stones, plum blossoms, geese and chrysanthemums. Each with a long poem inscription, sign. shizai yihai ... fang tang liuru jushi zhi yi/fa (written in yihai year [1935] after the style of Liuru Jushi) with a painted seal.
