Description:
Tibet, ca. 18th ct.H. 25 cm
Standing in slight tribhanga on a lotus-base with his right arm elegantly stretched downwards showing the varadamudra while the left is holding the stem of the padma-lotus flowering along his left shoulder, wearing diaphanous dhoti secured with a belt, sash, upavita running over his left shoulder falling down his left upper leg, encircling the sash to continue over his right upper leg, bejewelled, his face displaying a serene expression with downcast eyes below arched eyebrows running into the nose-bridge, smiling lips, elongated earlobes set with flower-head shaped ear-ornaments, his blue coloured hair combed in a chignon set to the front with a minute Buddha figure secured with a five-leaf tiara decorated with a pair of pattras and floating ribbons and a separate embossed large flaming mandorla placed behind Padmapani in the lotus-base, sealed.
