China, 17th/ 18th c.H. 28 cm
Seated in lalitasana on the caparisoned lion reclining on the lotus base, both hands showing the vitarkamudra and holding stems of lotuses flowering along the upper arms supporting the manuscript and probably originally the sword, wearing dhoti, cape draped around the shoulders, its streamers encircling the arms and the finials falling down over the lion, his face displaying a serene expression with downcast eyes below arched eyebrows, elongated earlobes with ear plugs, his hair combed in a chignon and secured with a tiara, traces of red polychrome around the base.
