On the inside of the large ritual water basin, the surface of which has remained smooth and without any further decoration, there are opposite the handles in the thick Malachite patina imprints of woven bast(?)mats. Both large handles bear on their upper side a flat relief, but quite precisely drawn, well cast, powerful Taotie mask. Inside at the bottom long inscription. Cast bronze, bluish green patina, malachite and earth tone incrustations, some unremoved casting ridges on the underside of the basin base.
Important Austrian private collection, acquired in the early 1990 from E. & J. Frankel, New York, according to information from an old New York private collection, collected in the 1920s
