China, 19th c.79 x 99 cm R.
Yellowish silk, embroidered with coloured silk in satin stitch. Framed behind glass. The large lower section shows a medallion with a pair of flying fenghuang birds between blossoms, the corners also with blossom tendrils. The upper crosspiece shows four characters: "Bin yun chan lin - Temple of the Green Cloud" in medallions surrounded by ruyi frames, flowers on the outside.
