Rooster and Hen with Chicks. Hanging scroll, ink and colors on paper. Poetic inscription and signature by the artist: “Yunping Xu Fang.” Two seals of the artist: „Yunping”, “Xu Fang”.

Xu Fang, style name Yunping, was from Changshu in Jiangsu province. In his young years he studied landscape painting together with Wang Hui (1632-1717), later he specialized on painting horses and other animals
