A pair of hanging scrolls, ink and colors on paper, depcting two scenes from the famous stories of the Jin dynasty: Xie An enjoys the winter snow with his nephews; Shi Chong and Wang Kai fight for wealth. Each painting with a long inscription to the story, dated gengxu year [1910], signed 'in the style of Laolian Jushi (Chen Hongshou, 1599-1652) ... Ziwei Shanren Xu Yan' and "Jianshi", artist's seals: "Jianshi" and "Xu Yan hua yin".
