Lotus flowers. Ink and light colours on paper, mounted as a hanging scroll. Upper left titled with an Iyrian inscription: "Wind sweeps over pond and lotus - the fragrance rises as if by itself", a seal "Fan hu yu shi". Fine image of the floral genre, captivating by its restrained colouring.

Zhou Xian (also Zhou Cunbo) with his artist's name came from Zhejiang province and lived in Shanghai. He was acquainted with several famous painters of the Shanghai School, including Ren Xiong, and is praised for his delicate, tasteful style - Light creases
