Three carp in the pond swimming between water plants and shrimp. Ink and colors on paper, mounted and framed under glass. Title Inscription, dated "winter day of the wuzi year [1948]" and signed: "Rongfu and Shaoyao painted together in Hu Sahng (Shanghai)". Two artist's seals: "Zhao Jin zhi yin", "Fang Shaoyao yin".
From an old South German private collection, acquired before 2007 - Very minor wear
Zhao Jin with courtesy name Rongfu comes from Yangzhou of Jiangsu Province and is known as a landscape and figure painter. Fang Shaoyao is a painter of the Shanghai-School of painting.
