8-arm ceiling chandelier, c. 1938/50. maker: Taito Oy. Brass stem and bouquet-shaped arms, with conical shades of frosted champagne-colored glass. Electrified.
This wonderful chandelier is very close to the model designed by Paavo Tynell for the Sokos Helsinki house, probably it could have been made for that commission as well. This one again has eight curved arms instead of ten, with a goblet-shaped glass shade in this model. The first designs for the Sokos Helsinki House date from 1938, but were not realized until the early 1950s. The larger versions of this lamp are still used today in the restaurant of Sokos Helsinki House.
