The mosaics are a fine example of the high art of the micromosaic technique as only the Vatican workshops have mastered it. Until today, this workshop is known for its miniature masterpieces. Especially since the end of the 18th century and throughout the 19th century, these small masterpieces were appreciated by wealthy travellers on their Grand Tour. The set offered here is in a wonderful state of preservation.
