The figure of Saint Barbara shows great stylistic similarities with figures from the workshop of Gil de Siloé (Antwerp 1450 - 1501 Burgos). Gil de Siloé was a Gothic sculptor who worked in Burgos and was called Gil de Amberes, which suggests that he came from Antwerp. He created the monumental and multi-figured altarpiece in the Chapel of St. Anne in Burgos Cathedral, one of the most important works of late Gothic carving in Spain. Especially the saints Catherine and Barbara show parallels to our present figure in the design of their faces, hair and garments.
