A BAROQUE MYSTERY TABLE CLOCK

South German or Austrian, 18th century
H. 35 cm
Unusual, white painted and partial gilt case in the shape of a vase. Pewter basin with Roman numerals and a small boat on a thread suspension as a hand. The verge escapement in the base is fitted with a long pointer shaft and a magnet that sets the boat floating above it in motion. Working order not guaranteed, boat probably replaced, rest, age damage.
