China, Xuantong-six-character mark and periodD. 14,8 cm
The exterior enamelled with an iron-red five-clawed dragon and a three-tailed phoenix in mutual pursuit of gilt-pearls amongst auspicious clouds, above a wave border at the foot, the well with a writhing dragon surrounded with flames.
Max Müller (1867-1960), German consul in Hankow, collected in China between 1909 and 1912. Inherited by his daughter Irm gard Müller-Doertenbach (1909-2011)
It is unusual to find examples of fine porcelain specifically dated to the Xuantong reign, the last reign of the Qing Dynasty - Fine condition
