Description:

China, Qing dynasty, ca. 18th c
H. 34,5 cm (mit Glaskugel)
Formed by two ferocious five-clawed dragons intertwined, with sinuous bodies covered with finely carved scales, each holding the sacred pearl. Each with a later large glass sphere.
Collection of the sinologist Otto Franke (1863-1946) sold from his estate by a family member at Nagel, 2.11.2012, lot 1496, the counterpart acquired from Zeller, Lindau, 12.7.2013, lot 1069
