Description:
Cambodia, Khmer, 11th cent.H. 58 cm
The rectangular panel carved in deep relief with the standing Shiva in the centre touching with his right hand a kneeling female figure, his left hand resting on his lap, another kneeling female figure to his left and all three placed on a lotus base set on the head of a kirttimukha issuing to both sides a floral volute.
Formerly from an old German private collection, acquired 1970, published in the Asiatica catalogue 1 of the Khayon Indo-Asia-Art-Foundation, June 1970, page 69 - Partly chipped, minor old rest.
