Ink and colors on silk, framed under glass. The painting depicts the Gods of the Three Stars "Fu Lu Shou", who are arranged from right to left: The God of Luck and Fortune "Fu" is dressed in an official's costume, the God of Prosperity "Lu" in scholar's dress carries a boy, the God for Longevity "Shou" holds a peach as a symbol of immortality.
From an old European collection, collected before 1990
In Chinese culture, the terms “Sanxing” or “Fu Lu Shou” represent the three attributes of a good life. The three gods were represented in human form for the first tim in the Ming dynasty and their statues are found in temple paintings, on ancestral shrines and on altars in homes and shops with offerings, especially during Chinese New Year - - Partially damages due to age, partly restored
