Dröl-chin-marpo Sog-gi-Tse, a tantric protector of the Buddhadharma, rides on a red fanged horse. He is considered to be an emanation of Begtse, has a red body colour and wears the iron armour of a warrior. With his right-handed spear he pierces all enemies who oppose the truth of the Dharma; in his left hand he holds the still bleeding heart of such an enemy (symbolically). At the top centre is Vajradhara in the yab-yum form, with Padmasambhava and Amitabha to his left; to the right and on the side of the main deity we can see other red mantras and tantric protective deities. Tantric offerings and wrathful animals are depicted below. Painting on textile, silk mount. Further two Thangka with damages due to age.
An old German private collection, collected between 1950 and 1984, this thangka was acquired from Koller Zürich, catalogue 49/3, November 1982, lot 218 - Wear, minor damages due to age
