An eight-part folding screen depicting a blossoming plum tree with sprouting buds surrounded by bamboo in early spring, symbolising resistance to the cold of winter. It stands in a hilly landscape on the shore of a lake, which the viewer can glimpse in the background. A group of four and a single greenfinch rest in its branches. Ink, gold speckles and a little colour on paper, signed Keibun and seal lower right.
