Description:
China, Ming dynasty, late 15th c.H. 26,5 cm
Seated in vajrasana on a lotus base, both hands holding stems of lotuses flowering along the shoulders, one supporting a manuscript, wearing dhoti, cape draped around his shoulders, bejewelled, his face displaying a serene expression with downcast eyes below arched eyebrows that run into the nose-bridge, his hair combed in a chignon topped with a ratna placed on a lotus and secured with an elaborate tiara cast with jewels at its centre.
