Tibet, 18th/19th c.80 x 54 cm R.
The centre depicting a heruka standing in pratyalidhasana on a pair of figures reclining on the lotus base, embracing with his principle arms his consort, his hands holding vajra and ghanta, the other four hands holding the prescribed attributes, pair of wings behind him, his head consisting of three wrathful faces, his partner offering him the blood contents of the kapala with her left hand, flaming halo behind, surrounded by many deities that the deceased will encounter on his path to rebirth and its four corners with a bodhisattva placed in a medallion, in brocade mounting, framed and glazed.
