The body carved with separately attachabled neck, head, legs, and tail, the head raised up with open mouth, with traces of pigment.
From a European private collection, acquired at L.H.W. Hong Kong, 12 October 1994 - Fitted perspex stand - Some damage due to age, one leg repaired
Cf. with a wooden horse of similar size, sold by Christie's New York, 20 March 2015, lot 750, and with a much smaller example, also sold by Christie's New York, 15 September 2011, lot 1444. A slightly larger wooden horse in several parts, but depicted galloping, was also sold by Christie's New York, 24 March 2011, lot 1297.
