Caucasus, late 19th ct:143 x 88 cm
Two red-ground stepped polygons on a green background frame the central background cartouche, which is covered with an archaic, hooked motif on a white background. Two borders with geometric ornamentation frame the striking knotted work. Minor repiled areas in places, restorations or partial restorations to the selvedges and narrow-sided finishes.
