A bronze of Buddha Shakyamuni

Seated in vajrasana on a lotus base with the hands resting on his lap in dhyanamudra, wearing monastic garment including underskirt and mantle, its borders engraved with scrolling tendrils, his face displaying a serene expression with downcast eyes below arched eyebrows, elongated earlobes, his spiky curled hair continuing into the ushnisha and topped with a lotus bud, traces of gilt-lacquer.
Important South German private collection collected until 2004, this bronze was acquired at Galerie Koller Zürich,18.5.1990, lot 342- Wear, slightly chipped, short break on the base on the back side
