A central dragon between clouds and flames surrounded by three further dragons. Underglaze blue six-character mark in double ring on the base.

Kangxi porcelain, such as the present piece, follows a Ming prototype that was popular in the Hongzhi period (1488-1505) and the Zhengde period (1505-21) and continued to be produced in the later Qing dynasty, reflecting the popularity of this design in Ming and Qing houses; Qing dynasty, reflecting the popularity of this design at the courts of the Ming and Qing periods. The "Green Dragon" crockery from the Ming and Qing periods differs in the details. Some are only painted with dragons in green colour üover the glaze, others have details of dragons in black Üoverglaze - Glued breaks and minor glaze frits on the rim
