A very large bronze tripod koro and with cover

Description:

Japan, Meiji period
H. 101 cm (body 68 x 94 x 57 cm)
Bulbous form tapering upwards, resting on three feet. On the front and back, relief decoration of scholars in a bamboo grove within reserves. Curved side handles with dragon motifs, partially pierced, extending onto the shoulders. The lid features four oval reserves depicting mythical creatures, surmounted by a shishi.
