Description:

China, Tang dynasty
H. 52,6 cm
The horse is standing on a rectangular plinth, its head turned slightly to the left. The head, the mouth and the pointed ears are covered with cream-coloured glaze, the neck, the body and the legs are covered with amber-coloured glaze. The saddle is not glazed and shows remnants of cold painting.
From an important South German private collection, collected since the 1960s - A TL analysis by Oxford Research Laboratory dated 22.12.1993 is consistend with the dating of this lot
