Ink and colours on paper, framed under glass. Part of a horizontal scroll. Three arhats - Taming Dragon Lohan, Laughing Lion Lohan, Taming Tiger Lohan - riding on their animals with attendants over waves.
Old and important German private collection, collected since the 1950s until 2007 - Traces of age, few foxing, very minor dam.
The painting is in the style of the Ming painter Ding Yunpeng (1547-1628) finely worked and rich in detail. The pure and tiny brushstrokes are characteristic of this style
