Description:

South-India, Viyjayanagar period, 15th cent.
H. 31 cm
Seated in lalitasana on a lotus base placed on a stepped rectangular pedestal, his four arms radiating around his body with the principle hands showing the abhayamudra and holding the lotus flower while his secondary hands supporting the cakra and shankha, wearing dhoti, bejewelled, his face displaying a serene expression with almond-shaped eyes below arched eyebrows that run into the nose-bridge, elongated earlobes with ear ornaments and topped with the kiritamakuta showing the cakra emblem at its reverse.
