Description:

Ladakh, 11th/12th cent.
H. 14 cm
Standing in light tribhanga on a lotus pedestal, the right hand raised in front of the chest, holding the vajra, while the left hand grasps the stem of a lotus flower along the left shoulder, dressed in dhoti, shawl draped around the shoulders, adorned with jewels;The face with a serene expression and open eyes under arched eyebrows, the hair tied in a bun and fastened with a three-bladed tiara.
From an important South German private collection, collected since the 1960s, acquired on 14 November 1978 from Schoettle Ostasiatica Joachim Baader, Stuttgart (invoice preserved) - Minor wear and minor age damage to the base
