A THANGKA DEPICTING VAISHRAVANA

The centre of the painting with Vaishravana riding his lion trotting over the lotus base, his right hand holding the parasol while the left is supporting the mongoose, wearing armour, scarf floating around his shoulders, his face displaying a severe expression, his head topped with an elaborate bonnet, surrounded by his eight helpers, each riding an animal, Vajrapani above, various lay persons and Buddhist emblems below and all placed in a mountainous landscape, in brocade mounting.
From an old Württemberg private collection, collected by a family member before 2000 - Minor damages due to age, wear and minor rest.
