Description:

Tibet, ca. 19th cent.

Standing with his multiple legs in pratyalidhasana on various figures reclining on the lotus base, his principle arms embracing his partner, the hands holding karttrika and kapala, the upper two hands grasping the legs of the elephant skin draped over his back, the middle placed hands showing the tarjanimudra, wearing tiger skirt, garlands of skulls and severed heads, bejewelled, his head consisting of three cold-gilded faces displaying wrathful expressions, painted facial details, his red coloured flaming hairdo set with the horse head secured with a skull tiara and his consort holding the kapala and karttrika, sealed.
Important South German private collection collected until 2004, this bronze was acquired at Galerie Koller Zürich, 25.6.1993, lot 68 - Sealed, very slightly chipped, minor wear
