Description:

China, Qing dynasty, 19th c.
L. 139 cm, B. 210 cm
Silk gauze (leno weave), embroidered in colored silk with counted stitches and gold thread in appliqué technique. Sleeve extensions: Silk (blue), with pressed pleats. Edging: gold fabric with additional pattern weft threads. Spherical gold-plated brass buttons. The dragons in the usual distribution between clouds, red bats, cranes, treasure ornaments and flowering branches. A ninth dragon on the lower flap. The horse hoof cuffs embroidered accordingly. At the hem the waves here are designed in spiral shape, omitting the diagonal lines of the deep water, and numerous wishing pearls together with other treasures floating in them. There are also numerous red bats flying above.
