Majolica, white glazed and painted in ochre, blue, green, manganese and black. Figurative scene in the centre, the rim decorated with cherubs and trophies. Concentric yellow circles on the base and inscribed in blue: ‘Si buttan giù le porte del real palazzo 1575’ (They are breaking down the doors of the royal palace). Minute chip to the stand, small hairline crack.
Important private collection in the Rhineland, acquired before 2000
