Marble, worked in full round. Standing figure of David with the head of Goliath at his feet. Restored on the neck and on the right arm below the shoulder, further older restorations; iron mount on the back; slight surface indentations and minor additions

The figure and posture of the young man are reminiscent of works by Domenico Poggini, such as his marble statue of Apollo in the Boboli Gardens, Florence, signed and dated 1559, or the Bacchus of 1554 in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York (cf. Utz, op. cit., figs. 2, 4-5).
