A GRANITE FIGURE OF VISHNU

South India, 13th cent.

Standing in samapada, his four arms radiating around his body, his principle hands broken and placed on his hip, both secondary ones holding wheel and conch, wearing dhoti, bejewelled, his face displaying a serene expression with almond-shaped eyes and his head topped with the kiritamakuta, on stand.
