This bronze figure of Acalā (Tibetan Mi g.yo ba, “the Unshakable”) represents a key manifestation within tantric iconography. Acalā is counted among the eight Vidyarāja, or Wisdom Kings, wrathful embodiments of enlightened insight. In this depiction, he wields in his right hand the sword of wisdom (jñāna-asi), with which he cuts through ignorance, while in his left he brandishes a lasso used to bind the passions - Part. minor rest. and damages due to age
