Depicting 'Fire', the porcelain is enamelled with Jupiter holding a thunderbolt visiting Vulcanus, Venus arriving in her chariot above them.

The scene of the 'Four Elements' dishes is designed by engravings after a series of paintings by Francesco Albani (1578-1660) commissioned by Cardinal Maurice of Savoy representing 'The Four Elements', which are now in the Museum of Turin. A set of four plates representing Water, Earth, Fire and Air, is illustrated by G. C. Williamson, The Book of Famille Rose, London, 1970, pl.
