China, 1st half of 20th c.119 x 168 cm
Cotton (cream white), wool (blue, yellow, cream white, red, black), knotted. The tiger is shown striding proudly across the rich blue background, its mouth wide open to reveal its large teeth and red tongue. The stripes on the tiger's tail are stylized into dots.
From a North German private collection - Despite traces of age and use, the colors are still in fairly good condition and have hardly faded. The pile is slightly worn in places, with slight damage to the edges at the top and bottom
